5 Things I’m Loving Right Now

5 things
Man oh man, here we are halfway through the year and so much great stuff has happened already. I spent the better part of May swamped and I’m honestly really relieved to be starting June all caught up and fresh.

This past Sunday, Shawn and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary! I can’t believe it’s been a year already. I feel so blessed to have married this man last year and wish I could relive that day over and over again. He is my hero, number one cheerleader and all around best husband I could ever dream of. Here we are on Sunday:943254_10201216185236021_132090466_n

June is also my birthday month and Shawn and I are planning a little getaway to the beach in a couple of weeks to celebrate these two fun events. I’m so ready to get away for a few days.

Also, this month I have discovered some awesome goodies and I’m excited to share them with you, so enjoy!

5 Things I’m Loving Right Now

1) Farmer’s Markets

This month marked the beginning of farmer’s market season and this year I’m helping my amazing sister Mary Crimmins with the 12 South Farmer’s Market in Nashville. I LOVE working there and getting to know all the awesome farmers and customers. Tuesdays are quickly becoming my favorite day of the week.

If you have a local market in your area, make sure to check it out as all the summer goodies are just starting to pour in. I love getting to try all the delicious tomatoes, squash, bell peppers, berries, cucumbers, corn and so much more. Also, see if your local farmer’s market needs volunteers. It’s so much fun to help out and you’ll really be doing a great favor for the market managers.

Here are a few shots I’ve taken so far this season:

2) Kris Carr

If you haven’t check out Kris Carr’s website, you are missing out big time. I am seriously in love with this woman. I first heard about Kris when I watched her documentary Crazy Sexy Cancer. It documents her journey as she seeks to treat her diagnosis of cancer holistically and is such a beautiful testament to who she is. Her videos, books, and blog posts are full of life and beauty and you will fall in love with this quirky, hilarious and beautiful lady in no time.

3) Clairsonic

featureimage2_enlargeI have been wanting a Clairsonic cleansing brush for years and I finally got one for my anniversary gift this year! These brushes use a patented sonic frequency to cleanse, soften and smooth your skin like you wouldn’t believe. They clean your face up to 6x better than manual cleansing and exfoliate away all dirt, impurities and dead skin. It’s basically like a Sonicare toothbrush for your face… except way more gentle. I have loved my Mia 2 so far and I can already tell a difference with my pores becoming smaller and clearer. It’s pretty amazing!

4) Cycling

What a difference a month makes! At the beginning of May I posted about my commitment to start exercising and I have to admit that I am actually starting to love my morning rides. I am beginning to feel physically strong for the first time in my life. I have upgraded to a bonafide road bike (similar to the one pictured above) and every day I get to fly through the park feeling like a kid again.

If you hate exercising, I can assure you that this will start to change once you get into it. The first week I had a really hard time and every day it’s become more and more enjoyable. Creating a commitment to this has helped me on the mornings when I don’t feel like getting up. You should definitely try biking if you want an exercise that gets you outside in nature with the added bonus of being super fun.

5) The Chalkboard Mag

My sister Marissa just recently told me about this website and it’s so good! I love me a good wellness site and this one is set up as an online magazine with tons of different articles about health, wellness and a positive lifestyle. Not only is the website GORGEOUS but it is also chalk full of helpful and fun information. Every month they feature big name guest editors such as Jamie Oliver, Daphne Oz, Kris Carr, Lisa Ling and more. I have spent too much time on here already and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon. Enjoy!

Question: What are you loving this month? Pay it forward and share in the comments sections below!

  1. First of I love that you loved everything from “big” things like a happy marriage, to “small” things like cycling – we have to appreciate everything :)

I’m loving writing – Find it therapeutic and end up surprising myself

The farm – had to chase a chicken or two today – it’s amazing!

    Dark organic chocolate – wow

Part of my gratitude journal :)

    • I love your list, Eduardo! I am also finding writing to be therapeutic and cathartic. It’s such a wonderful process.

I especially like your comment about the chickens! ha! I am actually thinking about getting some chickens myself and was just talking about this yesterday.

  2. Well I have to say that I am partial to the Farmers market too. Isn’t it amazing! Glad it made it on your top 5 list 😉

What am I loving right now…hmm… I have to say my Honest products. Most is scent free so I can add my essential oils and all are completely non-toxic. Seriously amazing stuff!

    • I’ve been wanting to try the Honest products for a while, but I keep putting it off. I think I may have to try them now that I’ve actually talked to someone who’s tried them!

  3. Love it, love it!! I love farmers markets. I take my kids on Saturday’s and let them pick which veggies they want. My wife and I always get asked how we get our young children (4 kids 6 and under) to love veggies so much. We have moved away from processed foods and make most of our own meals, and incorporate veggies into almost every meal!

We also love to go bike riding!!! We have recently started as a family.

    • Thanks Allan! I LOVE your approach to veggies with your kids. I’m sure letting them pick which ones they want really helps them be better eaters. Also, when we remove processed foods from our homes, the good stuff becomes the norm and I think that also has a huge impact on kids.
      Awesome job!!
